The right artist, for this piece, in this city.

A high-touch recommendation service. We listen carefully, then introduce you to one to three artists whose hand fits your project.

How matching works

Four lenses, applied carefully.

Style

Fine-line, traditional, blackwork, ornamental, illustrative — we know who draws what, and how well.

Placement & scale

Some artists are masters at small. Others come alive on a back piece. We won't ask one to do the other's job.

Budget

We work in real numbers. We'll tell you what's possible and what isn't, before you've fallen in love with the wrong artist.

City & travel

Most matches are within a short trip. For larger pieces, we'll quietly suggest the journey that's worth taking.

Artist vetting

What vetted means here.

We do not rank artists by follower count, paid placement, or who replies fastest. A match has to make practical sense for the tattoo, the body, and the booking.

Portfolio consistency

We look for repeated evidence of clean line work, settled contrast, readable composition, and work that holds together across more than one strong post.

Healed results

Fresh tattoos can hide a lot. We prioritize artists who show healed work, repeat clients, and pieces that still read after the initial shine is gone.

Style specialization

A great realism artist is not automatically the right fine-line artist. We tag artists by what they consistently do well, not by every style listed in a bio.

Placement judgment

We check whether the artist's portfolio shows the body areas and scale a client is asking for. Small wrists, ribs, hands, backs, and cover-ups all ask for different judgment.

Professional process

Clear booking instructions, deposit policies, reschedule terms, reference requests, and boundaries around copying are all signals that the artist runs a careful practice.

Fit for budget and travel

A recommendation only helps if it is realistic. We consider the artist's usual price range, city, waitlist signals, and whether travel makes sense for the size of the tattoo.

In three steps

Slow, but never delayed.

01
Brief

A short form or a 20-minute call. The more honest, the better.

02
Shortlist

We come back within two working days with one to three artists, with notes on why.

03
Introduction

We make the introduction by email. From there, the relationship is yours.

“They sent three names with actual reasons: one was strongest for fine-line detail, one was better for the placement, and one fit my budget best. I understood the tradeoffs before I reached out.”

FAQ

Questions, answered.

We are not. We do not take a referral fee. We charge our clients directly so the recommendation stays honest.

One revised shortlist is included if the first recommendations are not a fit. After that, we can quote additional matching work if the project changes or needs a deeper search.

Nationwide across the United States — New York, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Austin, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Nashville, Denver, and beyond.
